Fireworks

I just got back from a wonderful fireworks display, and it seems there were some fireworks going on with Steorn as well. SeamusF left this message on the forums:

... they ran into some technical issues, firstly a problem with the bearings, which was fixed once identified. The next issue appears to be an environmental issue. We think possibly the temperature from the lighting system in the immediate area, but this has to be further assessed in the morning.
The laws of nature are not giving up without a fight!

On another note, this is the only official word we've received from Dr. Mike:
I am in London!

No sign of Mabuse, yet.

It's late, and the beer was good. Time for me to go to bed.

Patience, persistence, truth,
Dr. mike

Wow. Orbo now has an issue with Heat. That should make an interesting product.
And Steorn was not smart enough to maybe think there might be lights at the demo??
Stoern never tied ORBO in heat?
Steorn built the device they planned on testing the DAY BEFORE the demo.
My God people. Does anyone not drinking the koolaid believe these idiots???

Any intelligent person or company would have practiced this demo 100 times under every possible condition. This was their ONE and ONLY chance to make a great first impression abour ORBO.
This is honestly a huge unbelievable problem. One you would expect from someone who has no idea what they are doing. This reflects really badly on Steorn.

Here it is folks, I grabbed frames from some live video minutes ago. Unfortunately the video is down again but as you can see it is amazing! The device is definitely clear and you are able to view it working. So here it is the first internet video of orbo! A freeenergytracker exclusive!

Ok...I give up...

What are we supposed to see on this link to Yahoos image hosting site...

Is there supposed to be a picture there? Did you get it off Steorn's website?

thanks for reminding me! the drinking bird is sensitive to room temperature as well. dont mean to dwell on semantics but its not "heat" that's the problem. Its most likley 3-5 degrees above room temprature. If theyve had this tech for a year they'd have it hooked up to a little merrygoround by now at the very least. not stopping at the drop of a hat. this whole thing is soo weird yet so captivating

Jeez you guys, give Steorn a break! They can't help it if the place has the wrong kind of lights. Besides,it worked in the simulations

They informed, that the ORBO was constructed on the site and is made of "plastic?", so people can look throught and see the mechanism.

The mechanism must be quick prototype just to show the actual magnetic work, so its not surprising if something goes wrong (lights heat the plastic and so on). I believe that the actual, "real" ORBO would be constructed from metal or something else. If there is any real thing...

If my company was on the line, I think I would work through the night to solve the problem.

Anyone else notice that the biggest Steorn groupies (babcat, 007, energyman8) are VERY quiet?

Whatever way you look at it, Steorn blew it. Big Time! Every othert PM or OU machine claimant has failed when asked to perform a public demo. Today Steorn become another in a long list. I mean, do Steorn think the press will keep coming back?

THIS JUST IN:

REASON FOR FAILURE OF STEORN FREE ENERGY DEVICE EXPLAINED!

It appears that the only known working PPM/OU device, Chuck Norris, heard about the Steorn device. In a great fit of anger, Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked Ireland, destroying the device, all its design plans, and the entire Island.

Let me get this straight. They are going to show the world a working ou device. And THEN they are going to "validate it"??? Umm.. show device = validated. Now before anymore people starve to death, freeze to death, die of thirst etc let's get the technology out there asap? By monkeying around with "validating" people are dying needlessly no?

it's not good, in fact it is a grand cockup but in Steorn's defence they are a small company and who knows whats been going on behind the scenes in the build up to this event.

i think anyone who has worked in engineering or IT will identify with whats happening and say there but for the grace of god go i.

From the Steorn update stickie

Hi Folks,

I have briefly had a chat with the guys on site at Kinetica and please note the following interim update at 10.00am.

"We are experiencing some technical difficulties with the demo unit in London. Our initial assessment indicates that this is probably due to the intense heat from the camera lighting. We have commenced a technical assessment and will provide an update later today.

As a consequence, Kinetica will not be open to the public today (5th July). We apologise for this delay and appreciate your patience."

I will post with further details as soon as they come into us.

Kind regards,

SeamusF

What heat ? What camera lighting?
Modern video cameras doesnt need much light.
I belive the demo unit is rather small so you dont need much power to get enough light for a modern video camera.

Where is Dr.Mike ? Did Steorn break all their promises to Dr.Mike and the forum ?

Crank seems to be doing som heavy defending of Steorn. She is an artist and she knows that Sean is an artist too. The Steorn thing is just a bad copy of the Finsrud art show.

Forget about it... I've just wasted £160 on a train ticket to London only to be told while on the platform ... on the freakin' platform people... that the demo is off for today. I only hope it's like the ending to the movie Prestige when you think David Bowie hasn't made the cloning machine... when really..... er.... okay, I won't spoil the ending.

Look... if this thing works then great... but my brother made his own perpetual motion machine when he was about 7. It was a raisin in a bottle of champagne... it kept going up and down FOREVER!! It's just that like the heat issue over at Kinetica, it's just not practical!

Very Funny, Anonymous :)

It is 3:45 in the morning here in Alberta, Canada, 10:45 am in London. Ho hum still nothing on the vid.

Too bad about the bearing and the interference with the lights. Anybody else think that may have put a kink in their absolute confidence?

I thought about it last night and (IF it really works) it doesn't actually disprove the principle of conservation of energy; whatever energy is generated must have been converted from entropy. We all "know" that entropy is a one-way trip; the universe is constantly becoming more and more disorganized.

However there is one notable, readily-observable exception: the big bang. That's because the big bang at the start of the universe also appears to disobey the one-way nature of entropy; because how can you create a universe out of nothing? Incidentally the big bang really is one-way, I understand it has been mathematically proven that the universe never will re-condense.

IF the machine works and it really does create energy out of entropy (my gosh, just typing that out...) anyway, then there probably exist other mechanisms that can also reverse entropy. That would be a really interesting field of study, I mean, if you can get past all the charlatans & scammers in the field.

Is the failure real or is it a part of the media scam?
No members of the press arrived at the art museum so Steorn is running a backup plan to get some extra publicity?

If the orbo are not able to handle the heat I do not think there will be possible to build a 100bhp unit that will fit in a car....

This is a fake!!!

Real Orbo works on pint of Guinnes, not just plain water.

Yesterday, I gave Steorn the benefit of the doubt, and assumed the "technical" problem was to do with the web feed. I nearly made the comment "I wouldn't be surprised if sometime during the demo the Orbo stops working, and the demo is abandoned". I thought that would be overly cynical.

This problem with the lights... well my BS detector has gone to max.

This is always the problem with "free energy" devices. If it's true they produce excess energy, then there should be a lot of power available, especially at 0.5W/cm3. The device should be raring to go, once the brake is released, it should whizz round like a mad thing.

What happens in practice is that the machines need a nudge to get them going, and then they are barely able to overcome internal friction.

Even if the free energy effect is there but quite small, they are still practically useless. You would have to build a big machine to get a usable energy output, in which case what is the advantage over solar or wind powered devices?

It can be difficult for people to understand why skeptics can be so dogmatic, it seems like a religious faith in science. Yet the whole point of science is that by adopting certain techniques, the true nature of the universe can be determined. The laws of physics have such an overwhelming amount of evidence in their favour, they may as well be treated as dogma. In some ways, the laws of physics are superior to religion - science works even when you don't believe it.

Science still does have one flaw. The science has to be interpreted by humans to put technology into practice. And humans make mistakes.

I think Steorn is faking some heat problems to take our mind away from how the orbo collects its energy. I guess that the orbo is powered by external energy from heat, light, electromagnetic radiation from the camera lights.

No one is able to see how my watch is powered, it has been running for more than 5 years. Does that mean that my watch is an PMM ?
(My watch is solar/light powered.)

I went to the Kinetica Museum today and was there when 4 Steorn employees arrived at 10am.

One of them took the "queue" of 5 (five) people aside and explained that the demo had again be cancelled (for July 5th). Most of the 5 people were naturally both curious and angry and asked how such incredible incompetence was possible?

A Steorn employee was asked directly whether a weight lifting device was on site at the Kinetica Museum (as stated by Sean McCarthy in several press articles for July 4th).

He explicitly stated. "No, we don't have such a device here in London, that is back in Dublin".

We then explicitly asked him why if that was the case, that Sean McCarthy has said that such a device, (lifting weights and doing work) would be demonstrated.

"I can't say" he said.

It would appear that the incompetence shown in this case is so extreme and without any precedent that it MUST be deliberate. i.e. They are simply going through the motions of a public demonstration, possibly in order to satisfy their contractual obligations to investors.

The poster of this messsage will post pictures and a full update on this mornings events later today at this blog.

Ten reasons why Steorn can't get their device to work.

10. Penn and Teller's design drawings got lost in the mail.

9. A Steorn engineer screwed up on the calculations. Giving the plastic flywheel a big push only keeps it moving for 10 hours, not 10 days.

8. Sean got distracted watching reruns of Oprah.

7. The device uses triple A batteries and Sean only brought double A batteries.

6. The device came to a dead stop when someone fed turtle food to the hamster.

5. Seamus shipped the wrong device. The 'energy-destroying' version is in London. The 'energy-creating' model is still in Dublin.

4. Dr. Mike gave the device the evil eye and cursed it to never work again. Steorn is flying in a voodoo expert from Haiti to remove the curse.

3. M.I.B.

2. Nicotine from Sean's cigs gummed up the bearings.

... and the number one reason that Steorn can't get their device to work...

1. Sean is determined to win a two-week vacation in the Caribbean by being voted Buffoon of the Year by Mad magazine.

Demo has flopped. Only thing remaining is DrMike's verdict.

I expect him to say, "I did not get a chance to see it".

Game Over.

Anonymous said...

Please Thicket dont give sean that much excuses that he can use.
Im not really surprised that something came up at the demo, lets hope it really is a little problem and not a problem what they had since the beginning of orbo "we are making a device but its not working yet but believe it could work...."

All of the above is 100% consistent with my theory that the whole thing is a conceptual art prank intended to probe our ignorance of science.

It's in an art gallery! It's ART!

No- don't turn off comment approval. You've been doing a terrific job at keeping up with the flow.

That's no reference to present company. It's just that there are too many weirdoes and nut cases and spammers on the internet and they will waste a lot of your time, our time and your space.
