Dr. Mike En Route to London?
Other than some silliness going on in the comments here and on Steorn's Forum, not much happened today as we await the July Demo. One note, Dr. Mike hasn't posted at all today, so there is a chance that he is en route to London. Also in the forums today:
ferg: why do they want to did this? Surely you hardcore forumers who have been dedicated to Orbo and its outcome deserve to know when and wheres it on don't you?
Magnatrix: Quite right... those who are "dedicated" already know (people in the SPDC)

BREAKING NEWS
Dr Mike Goes To The ToiletShock!
"We have reports coming in to the newsroom here at Steorn Tracker that Dr Mike has just eneterEd the toilet - over now to our correspondent Di Arear at our outside broadcast unit"
Di: Yes, thanks for that. As you've just heard we have reason to believe Dr Mike is at present in the toilet. I should stress that these are unconfirmed reports, so far - back to the studio".
Studio: Di, can you give us some detail on what's going on over there.
Di: Well, from my position here, there's not much to go on. We seen a light going on and heard a flush some minutes later, other than that the situation is entirely fluid.
Studio: Thanks Di, fascinating stuff. Now for some breakfast cereal commercials.
Bravo, Mr. administrator!

"Sean is coming out of the closet"
hahaha that's funny as hell
No sign of a demo yet!
I suspect that Steorn probably have a magnetic motor. These are already on sale, and can be shown to work. The drawback is the magnets lose strength after a while.
If true, Steorn could easily demo a machine that runs continuously for 10 days, especially if not under load, but it would not prove much. It would need to be tested under load for several few weeks before it showed signs of losing power.
The difference between Steorn and other companies is that Steorn have much more slick marketing, probably because they have been in business for a while and know the right channels.
But if there is a free t-shirt I'll go!
I think it's pretty obvious why they haven't announced the time or place of the demonstration. I call it the "Star Wars" effect.
If they did announce that they would be demonstrating a free energy device at a specific time and place, then people would be lined up outside for days in advance. Then the media would have no one to talk to for the days leading up to the demo but the freaks lined up outside.
Which is not to say that the only people outside would be freaks, but they'd have to be people who could afford to stand in line for days, so there would be plenty of freaks in the mix. And who do you think would end up on TV?
"I suspect that Steorn probably have a magnetic motor. These are already on sale, and can be shown to work."
Bob, please show me a magnetic motor for sale. I would love to see one!! There are no magnetic motors anywhere that run for more than a few minutes.
Please post the link.
Hi Bob,
I've never seen a "magnetic motor" that can simulate perpetual motion for any length of time. Can you say more about where you saw this device and exactly how it "works"?
Better yet, you said they are for sale. Can you provide a link so I can buy one?
Thanks.
Hi Bob,
Ditto what Mary said....
I've never heard of one either. A magnet motor that self-ran even if the magnets degraded would impress me.
Ok, don't get excited ;)
I'm thinking of the Perendev motor http://www.perendev-power.com/index_files/Page626.htm. NB I wouldn't try ordering one!
As for it working, I only have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFGiWiXMHn0. Clearly, this demo could easily be faked, so I would not trust it.
Also Bedini, another video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHh5AqQ4_xw. Its a test system, and appears to slow down quickly. The explanation for how they work is quite hilarious!
I have found web people who claim to have built a similar motor, but that the magnets degrade with use. Anecdotal evidence which doesn't prove much.
These motors are quite easy to build, so if anyone had created a usable device we would know about it. I suspect what happens like many PMM inventors, is they don't get past "nearly working" and abandon the project.
I think Steorn's device, if we ever get to see, maybe the first one to actually receive a thorough public validation, and I'm fairly sure it will be proved to be not viable. My money is still on COE.
There was a comment about a phone call with the Kinetica Museum that disappeared from the forum. It does look like the demo will be there.
Sorry, I pressed Publish instead of Preview.
I think we can discount anything to do with Bedini. His devices appear to require a battery ;)
OK folks - I'm pretty sure I can tell you this: Steorn is working on getting the demo set up.
When it'll be ready, and where it'll be I can't tell you.
And I'm working on getting a computer working with my hall probes!
Good job, Dr. Mike.
If you see anything interesting that you are able to report without jeopardizing your agreements and position, it will be very much appreciated if you mention it here.
We know you'll be very busy but if you place your posts elsewhere, I know I speak for others in saying we'd very much appreciate a brief mention with a link somewhere here (or an email to steorntracker).
Some of us who frequent this place are banned from Steorn's forums (as posters anyway).
Thanks for going all that way to check this out!!

I think a thanks for Steorn for paying for him to go. Odd that they would bring it this far if they didnt have something.
And thanks for the hints along the way too Dr Mike ;-)

Just found this on You Tube via another blog. Sean McCarthy of Steorn is in London and working at the Kinetica Museum.
So Mike Duke and Sherlock were right after all.
I think it's pretty obvious why they haven't announced the time or place of the demonstration. I call it the "Star Wars" effect.
Um, how about this for a thought. If that's the reason why they won't announce the place/time, why don't they just say that?
As in, "We will have a demonstration somewhere in London sometime in July, but we won't announce the place/time because it might create a big brouhaha".
Then we could all say, oh yeah, that makes sense!
About that Perendev motor: I suppose that could actually work. The definition of 'machine' is simply some construction that modifies force. So I could imagine a hypothetical machine that modifies the force of permanent magnets to drive a wheel around and around.
But there's a catch: it will wear out your permanent magnets; they will lose power over time. The power is derived from alternating the field of the permanent magnets which eventually runs them down. In fact in that demonstration on YouTube the magnets may have lost substantial force just from that minute or two of spinning the wheel. Think of the magnetism as holding some amount of potential energy, like a battery, well, once you burn it off against friction turning the wheel around then the motor will quit! And to remagnetize the magnets will require more energy than you got out of them.
So, the only practical use of such a machine would be to debunk all "overunity magnet motor" claims. The respondent could roll his eyes, take the next wide-eyed claimant gently to the machine, put in some new magnets and say "here, watch this". And show him/her how much energy you get from letting it wind down, then how much more it takes to remagnetize the magnets. See? Conservation of energy wins again.
"So I could imagine a hypothetical machine that modifies the force of permanent magnets to drive a wheel around and around."
----
Errm yeah, it's called an electric motor.
If you are talking about using the potential energy in a magnet like a battery then it would probably only last seconds, as the potential energy in a magnet is minute.
The perendev motor certainly does not work.
Sure, we have all seen an electric motor. But I've personally never seen an electric motor driven solely by permanent magnets and without any electricity input. That doesn't mean it couldn't be done.. but as we agree, the probable reason it isn't done is because the magnets would quickly become demagnetized and thereby lose their potential energy.
"Quid Pro Quo"
Such a hypothetical permanent magnet motor is therefore simply too impractical to be invented, let alone built. On the other hand, such a motor would have one good practical use for debunking "free energy" claimants.
"using the potential energy in a magnet like a battery then it would probably only last seconds, as the potential energy in a magnet is minute."
So says the fool. Why do try and come off as a know it all when you obviously don't know f'all what you are talking about? Tosser.
